2. Whip Scorpion



Vinegaroons are also known as whip scorpions. They are not true scorpions and cannot sting, but they can spray a vinegar-like acid that earned them the name “vinegaroon.” Despite their startling appearance, vinegaroons are harmless to people. Those pincers are actually modified mouthparts meant for grabbing prey, and vinegaroons have such bad eyesight that they use modified antenniform legs to sense their environment.
